Cooking need not be arduous or complicated. you do not need to have a wealth of technical nous nor an in-depth knowledge of different ingredients or methods of cooking. The basics are sometimes all you need. If your an avid cook then go for it. explore all the culinary worid has to offer. There's more out there to Know, learn or even master in a lifetime, Cooking can and should be enjoyable. However a lot of people i speak to find it stressful, time consuming, feel they lack knowledge, resources and the confidence to cook something. These are just a few reasons that come to mind, there are several and too many to mention, but each one equally justified.
If I can simplify it - if you can apply heat to a raw ingredient you can cook. Start small with a few ingredients and some basic bits an pieces - you will be amazed. - the more you do it , the more confident you will be come, the more confident you become , the more you will try new things, different methods, and ultimately grow as a cook........ we are not born good cooks after all. Like every learning process things can and will go wrong, especially in the kitchen. Its not letting these things affect your confidence nor detract from your ability either, even the most experienced chefs make mistakes now and again,
